The SPoT leadership team is composed of experienced operators of large logistics companies, experienced managers of large development teams, and founders and investors of venture stage companies. Our technical team have demonstrated expertise in logistics enterprise systems, blockchain, smart contracting, open protocol development, mathematical optimization, and machine learning.


Roger Crook, chief executive officer

Roger builds large-scale organizations that use new thinking, technology and logistics expertise to deliver cutting edge supply chain solutions to Fortune 500 and Global 2000 clients.  He was formerly Global Chief Executive Officer, DHL Global Forwarding & Road Freight Division from 2011 to 2015. The division had revenues of around €15 billion, with approximately 45,000 employees and operated in more than 200 countries and territories.  He was also a Member of the Board of Management, Deutsche Post AG, the world’s largest logistics company with revenues of over Euro 60 Billion.

diego fernandez, chief technology officer

Diego commercializes research in computer science related to Logistics and Supply Chain. His areas of technical specialty include machine learning, optimization, distributed systems, forecasting and enterprise- scale application development. He has applied these skills building Transportation Management Systems, Optimization and Forecasting Systems at IBM, Kimberly- Clark, Coca-Cola, Kirby Inland Marine, Walmart, and Carrefour, among others. His systems-building experience includes truck scheduling, network and inventory optimization, backhaul consolidation and workforce optimization. Diego is also a Scientific Advisor to the Tezos foundation.

christopher wall, president

Christopher develops enterprise software companies and businesses powered by technology. His areas of specialty include logistics, insurance technology, and ERP systems. He has invested in and founded businesses in enterprise software, freight brokerage, and financial services, while at Phoenix Asset Management in San Francisco and Vision Capital Advisors in New York. His roles there included technology assessment, analysis, fundraising, financial management, executive recruitment, and M&A.


Fabrice Le Fessant, PhD, chief scientific officer

Fabrice Le Fessant is a globally acknowledged expert in programming language theory and peer-to-peer systems. He is a researcher at the French Institute for Research in computer science and automation (INRIA) as well as Founder of OCamlPro. Fabrice led the development of the Tezos network, in partnership with Dynamic Ledger Solutions. He has developed leading smart contracting languages including Liquidity that use formal verification to ensure bug-free systems. He has developed open-source software platforms including  JoCaml, MLdonkey, MNPlightand LAMP. He is a member of the IRILL lab on open-source software and a member of the steering committee of the open-source working group in the Systematic cluster (GTLL).

joo hong, esq, chief financial officer

Joo brings expertise in financial and risk management. He was previously a Risk Officer at the Royal Bank of Canada, Macquarie, and JP Morgan, and a Financial Supervisor at the Office of The Comptroller of the Currency in the U.S. Treasury Department and the Securities and Exchange Commission. He also brings understanding of the intersection between finance, accounting, law, and technology for market development. 


Çagdas bozman, phd, Senior Engineer 

Çagdas is a blockchain expert working in the field since 2015. He worked on the prototype of the Tezos ledger and  is currently the lead developer of the TzScanblock explorer for Tezos. Previously, he worked  at Dassault Systèmes on the extension of a real-time modeling language for discrete-event systems. Çagdas has a PhD in Computer Sciences from Ecole Polytechnique on tools for programming languages.


Connie Golden, creative director 

Connie creates strategically focused and visually stunning user-centric brand experiences across a range of platforms and media. Her area of expertise is in delivering UI/UX and design for Fortune 500 companies and advertising agencies. She has previously worked with branding agencies, ad agencies and PR Firms such as Mediacom, McCann Healthcare, Weber Shandwick, Wolff Olins, RAPP, IPG Mediabrands, Ipsos, and PR Newswire. Representative clients include Volkswagen, Betterment, ZocDoc, UBS, HP Enterprises, AstraZeneca and Sony.

giulia di tomaso, PHD, head of community

Giulia brings expertise in IoT devices, communications protocols, and data management. She has been the technical lead on projects funded by the European Union to develop IoT for use in Healthcare and Defense. Giulia is a frequent panelist at events on Industry 4.0 discussing the disruptive potential of IoT technology. Giulia holds a PhD in Computational Modelling from University College London and was a Post Doctoral Fellow at the Feinstein Institute for Medical Research developing optical sensors and data analysis algorithms.

Heiner Mermann, advisor, global air & ocean freight

Heiner has more than 20 years experience in global logistics, across the Americas, Europe and Asia. He is currently working with companies that leverage technology to achieve high growth in the B2B global supply chain and logistics space. Heiner spent most of his career at DB Schenker, one of the top 3 global logistics companies with revenues over 15 billion Euros. He was a member of Board of Management, responsible for Global Air and Ocean Freight. Prior to that, he was Schenker’s CEO for the Americas. During his tenure, his focus centered on delivering high value customer solutions.

Paul Stewart, Esq, advisor, Logistics strategy & legal

Paul has practiced logistics law and strategy for 35 years, serving as General Counsel and EVP of Strategy for NYK Logistics and GST Corp. He is currently Senior Counsel of his private practice firm representing shippers, carriers, 3PLs, and warehousing companies in litigation, commercial transactions, mergers and acquisitions and transportation company start-ups.
